Our Story
Named after the restaurant's location right on the piazza of downtown Mill Valley, Piazza D'Angelo is an ode to Southern Italian trattorias - family owned, rustic neighborhood restaurants that serve fresh, unassuming, locally-sourced delicious food.
With a bustling bar scene and a natural light-soaked dining room, Piazza D'Angelo evokes a Mediterranean dining experience with a unique sense of home comfort. Enjoy a variety of fresh pastas, wood-fired pizzas, antipasti, as well as fresh fish, prime meats and our signature tiramisu.

Our Calabrian Roots
In 1980, brothers Domenico and Paolo Petrone, from the Calabria region in southern Italy, moved to Marin County with dreams of opening their own traditional trattoria. That dream came true a year later when they opened Piazza D’Angelo in the heart of Mill Valley.
Since then our trattoria has become a familiar home away from home for so many of Mill Valley residents. Today, the family tradition continues as Domenico's daughter, Felicia, and Paolo's son, Luigi, carry on to serve the community of Mill Valley.

FELICIA FERGUSON - OWNER
My earliest memories are being gathered around the table for family dinner, whether it be at my nonna's table in Calabria, Italy, at home in Mill Valley or here at Piazza D’Angelo. My love and passion for food has brought great purpose to my life. I’ve followed many paths, from hotel management to fashion buyer and retail operations manager but it wasn’t until I embraced my love of food and took over the restaurant from my father, Domenico, that I found the missing piece to my life.
Piazza D’Angelo has become a space of inspiration, allowing me to bring all my life experiences into one unified vision. It is so exciting to share my passion for food and family, with all our friends in the community and to help create memories around the table here at Piazza D'Angelo.

LUIGI PETRONE - OWNER
I began working at Piazza D'Angelo at the age of 15, and received my degree in hospitality management from San Francisco State University. I worked with my father, Paolo, in hotel development afterward. I returned to the restaurant in 2007 as an assistant manager, and worked with then General Manager Natale Cardamone.
